HR Specialist - Retail

Job Specifications:

  • Responsible for associate relations for 300 retail stores located in 15 states.
  • Ability to provide advice and consultation to field management on policy matters.
  • Conducts a majority of investigation via telephone. Manages the outcome to ensure appropriate resolution.
  • Required to review, decide, and approve or deny termination requests.
  • Review and approve pay increases in line with compensation guidelines.
  • Possess an understanding of Affirmative Action Plans and EEO Practices.
  • Occasional requirements to present training material to store manager audience.
  • Travel 25% per month to various field locations in the western region, which includes Hawaii, and other markets in Chicago, Washington DC and Orlando areas.
  • Participate in driving the completion of various human resources projects.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business related field.
  • Minimum of three years of human resources work experience.
  • Work experience in retail, multi-state, or multi-division environment preferred.
  • Good writing and presentation skills.
  • Good computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Should possess great organizational skills and follow up methods.
  • Familiarity with California employment law a plus.
  • Ability to speak or write in Spanish a plus.

Human Resource Assistant

Sumner on Ridgewood, a CCRC, is looking for an energetic and detail-oriented individual to assist the Director of Human Resources in a fast paced work setting.

Partial List of Essential Duties:

  • Processes all new hires from start to finish which includes
  • Works closely with the Director of Human Resources in recruitment, hiring, and training or new employees;
  • Codes and submits all bills that pertain to the Human Resource department;
  • Creates training packets for monthly all day orientation;
  • Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the Human Resource department;
  • Tracks all supervisor’s and salaried employee’s paid time off;
  • Enters employee’s and updates into the Human Resource Information System;
  • Creates and maintains employee files in accordance with employment laws and regulations;
  • Processes all enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs;
  • Assist Director of Human Resources in any and all functions of the Human Resource department as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree, some college preferred;
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • One year of experience in human resources, clerical, accounting, or customer service preferred, but not required;
  • Ability to handle multiplicity of routine tasks, follow specific instructions carefully and general instruction completely.
